1st overnight at Hobart College
Short Warmup Route - 20 miles
Long Warmup Route - 33 miles

Finger Lakes Trivia:

•The New York State Finger Lakes were formed during the ice age when the glaciers carved the existing river valleys and produced the 11 Finger Lakes.
-
•From West to East, the Finger Lakes are named:
-- Conesus Lake - the westernmost Finger Lake
-- Hemlock Lake - one of the 2 lakes serving as source of drinking water for Rochester
-- Canadice Lake - smallest Finger Lake; 2nd lake as source of drinking water for Rochester
-- Honeoye Lake - second smallest Finger Lake and the warmest and most shallow lake
-- Canandaigua Lake - has won awards for best tasting drinking water in New York state
-- Keuka Lake - the “Y” shaped lake; we overnight at Keuka College on the north side of Keuka Lake
-- Seneca Lake - the largest (acres & volume) and deepest (618 ft) Finger Lake
- we overnight in Geneva on the northwest shore of the lake
-- Cayuga Lake - the longest (almost 39 miles long) and 2nd largest Finger Lake
-- Owasco Lake - the city of Auburn is on the north end of Owasco Lake
-- Skaneateles Lake - one of cleanest lakes in the US; Syracuse uses it as one of its sources of
drinking water -- unfiltered, it’s so clean.
-- Otisco Lake - the easternmost Finger Lake

•This year we will cycle adjacent to at least portions of 4 Finger Lakes -- Seneca, Cayuga, Keuka & Canandaigua Lakes.
